Christmas Eve day, the shadow of another bowl game looms.
Second year of this tussle, still think it's a good looking logo. Not much interest in this game but it's on so away we go.
Western Michigan vs. Middle Tennessee State
It's turns out MTSU is in Conference USA.
Noon kick off and there is practically no one in the stands of what is a track and field stadium in Nassau.
If Popeye's wanted to, they could have logos in most sections of the stadium.
Plenty of scoring in the first quarter and then both teams settled down and it was 17-17 at half. Western Michigan got coached up by their enthusiastic coach P.J. Fleck and put up 28 in the second half. First ever bowl win for the Broncos.
Western Michigan 45 Middle Tennessee 31
My pick: WMU, hee haw, Sam Wainright and all that stuff. (Bowl record 6-5)
Game notes:
-I'm watching the end of It's A Wonderful Life while typing this up. The cops in Pottersville didn't hesitate to shoot.
-All 60 minutes of this game watched because there wasn't much else to do.
-This year Popeye's is promoting its spice packed wings for $3.99.
Last year it was the ghost pepper tenders. Ghost pepper was so 2014.
-Bowl swag: Not bad; Gift suite; Oakley backpack; cap; Rock 'Em Apparel socks; Jabra Bluetooth speaker.
Not feeling it on the blog tonight, Merry Christmas. Depressing Hawai'i Bowl update tomorrow.
