That's right Cletus, celebrate you wonderful bastard, your Vols are in and so are 79 other teams!
40 of the 41 games will be played in the span of two weeks, with two days in that span without a game. So, 12 days to get them all in and then the championship game on January 11th. I'm a huge Michigan State fan as many know, so hopefully the Spartans will be part of game 41. There will also be quite a bit of bias toward my team and against others. This is not a blog about the games, it's a blog about watching the games so there need be little objectivity, writing skill or true knowledge of the game.
For those new to this, my goal every year is to watch a live portion of every game. There are only two rules to accomplish the goal. One, a full, live quarter of each game has to be watched. It does not need to be the first quarter, just a quarter. This is important when games start to overlap. Two, a boy (one of my sons) can sub in and watch a live quarter for me and has to report in with a thought or two on the game.
This would be them. Neither is too excited BowlQuest is back for a 10th go-around but too bad. You'll watch the Taxslayer.com Bowl and like it!
Ten years in I honestly have no idea how this started. Probably something due to the fact I used to do a radio morning show and had free time in the afternoons around the holidays to watch all the games. Now I do afternoon drive which really makes it easier because I can be awake to watch the night games. I will also be on vacation the week before Christmas so no issues there at all to watch the first 19 games.
One new thing this year, I've set up a bowl picks group so you can pick against me. If you beat me, the prize is a post on the BowlQuest blog. That's right, you can write some crap that no one will read. I'm using espn's Bowl Mania, the group is BowlQuestX and the password is "cincyspartan." You do need an espn account to play, they're free. By the way, there is a 42nd game in this picks group, something called the Celebration Bowl.
I'll have some sort of preview page for all the games on the way. The fun begins December 19th.
