Boca Raton Bowl

A much better match up in the nightcap of a bowl game double header.  During the game, I get to do one of my least favorite tasks on Earth.

Isn't a marmot a rodent, or in Spanish, a raton? Remember this scene from The Big Lebowski?

"Hey, this is a private resident man..."

Anyhow, in this case the Marmot in question is company that makes cold weather gear...a company based in Florida.  A lot of things in BowlQuest make little sense.

Toledo vs. No. 24 Temple

This is actually a pretty good match up that probably deserves a better showcase than a rainy Tuesday night in south Florida.

If there is a MAC team involved there's probably a coaching change and that's just the case with Jason Candle stepping in for the Rockets.

For a game plagued with rain, the high powered Rockets offense wasn't slowed down much, putting up 435 yards.  The game was really all Toledo, up 12-3 at the half and then putting up 20 points in the 4th quarter to put this one away.

Toledo 32  Temple 17

My pick:  Temple (Record now down to 4-4)

Game notes:

-For a game that had several downpours, there was only one turnover.

-A pretty sparse crowd for an announced attendance of 25,000 and change.

Something tells me the crowd would not have been that different if it weren't raining.

-During this game I had to wrap all my Christmas gifts for Mrs. Keith.  I loathe gift wrapping.  And the paper chosen was the foil variety, the worst. This gift wrapping "hack" has been circulating for a while.

That's great if you're giving boxes of candy but guess what, stores don't give boxes any longer or try that "hack" on a box that weighs 20 pounds and is the size of a Fiat.  And the wrapping isn't the worst part of gift wrapping, losing the scissors is the worst.  I use two sets of scissors, just because I know I'll misplace one set.  I misplaced them both.  And whatever brand of tape we have at home is some cut rate crap.

To the person who created gift bags, "Thank You" so very much.  Several odd shaped gifts not in boxes went the gift bag route.

-What did I eat.  Not much, I was pretty full from lunch at Taft's Ale House.  I did microwave a frozen egg roll and it stunk up the house.  Everyone let me know about it too.

-Bowl swag:  Pretty lousy - Gift suite; beach towel; beach bag; Tervis tumbler; sunglasses; sports flip-flops.

Two games today - Poinsettia Bowl and GoDaddy Bowl.
