Hey, at least it wasn't raining in Nashville.
Texas A&M vs. Louisville
Got home just in time for the start of the game, third one of the day. The first two were on at work so its nice to get one while I sit on the couch with a beverage.
After starting 0-3, the Cardinals didn't seem like a team that would be playing in the post season but its not too difficult piling up some wins in the ACC. Meanwhile, Texas A&M had about every quarterback on their roster leave at the end of the season so a transfer student was under center. Not a good sign.
The Cardinals let it rip in the first quarter and hung. Quarterback Lamar Jackson did most of the heavy lifting, running for 226 yards and two touchdowns and throwing for another two. I guess the Aggies thought he would eventually get tired so they didn't bother to stop him.
A&M did mount a comeback in the fourth quarter but they couldn't get tie up the game and the Cardinals finish a lot better than they started.
Louisville 28 Texas A&M 21
My pick, why yes I chose A&M, even knowing their top two quarterbacks had transferred.
Game notes:
-I slipped away from the game to watch Jeopardy, knowing I could come back for the second half.
-Texas A&M is a program that looks to be in free fall. Two quarterbacks don't just transfer because they want a change of scenery.
-These bowl games usually have some sort of contest for the teams to participate in leading up to the game. Nashville is known for hot chicken.
That chicken just looks hot. We've got a few of these hot chicken places opening soon in Cincinnati.
-Player swag: Gift suite; Fossil watch. A lot of Fossil watches are given away in bowl season.
