Poinsettia Bowl

Another day, another couple bowl games to watch.  The MAC involved in both, so we're still plodding through these clunkers.

Northern Illinois vs. Boise State

My vacation day started with more work; scheduling a music log for the radio station and answering emails. Living large on my days off.

After getting that done, it was off to Costco for some shopping for Christmas food and some last gifts.  I left early enough to think I was going to beat the shopping crowd. It actually wasn't too bad except people are so bewildered with finishing things up for the holidays they were walking around like zombies, probably wondering why there weren't samples on every row.

Here some things to avoid while out in public:
-Letting your grandchildren climb along the ledges of the frozen food cases.  They have hands for a reason.  Take one in your hand and tell them their behavior is unacceptable.
-Trying to jump back and forth between check out lines based on which one you think is moving quicker.  Pick one and live with it.
-Allowing your child to pull tires out of the rack while in the receipt check out line.  Once again, a gentle but stern hand to correct your offspring from annoying everyone else. Evidently the "be good or Santa won't deliver gifts" threat no longer has any teeth.

To add insult to injury, I forgot to get Mrs. Keith her case of Propel so I had to go back in the store and get that item. The cashier seemed relieved her shift was coming to an end.

Back home, more music scheduling and then some laundry.  At least all the music is in through Monday.

Of course, there was the game, which was awful.  It was all Boise State from the get go.  How bad was Northern Illinois?

The Huskies had 33 total yards of offense and 42 of them were on their first drive of the game.  I was out at half time.

Boise State 55  NIU 7

My pick - Boise State (record 5-4)  Hey, I got one right!

Game notes:

-The Huskies only score was on a kick return.

-Final total offensive stats:

That's about as bad as it gets.

-I have no idea why this game was played at 1:30pm local time in San Diego.  The stadium was empty.

-Bowl swag:  Gift suite; Fossil watch; cap.

The Go Daddy Bowl is the night cap.
